Winter "Shutdown" Service Although we live in Beautiful BC, we still experience freezing temperatures, so annual Winter Shutdown Service is recommended to protect your irrigation system. Before the cold weather hits, we will shut off the water flow, remove all standing water from the irrigation pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads, to prevent damage caused by frost and the volume expansion that occurs when water turns to ice. In order to ensure that we get to all customers before the first cold snap, we ask that you sign up in advance for our Winter Shutdown Service. (Sorry; no repairs or changes can be made to your system during the winter shutdown service) Spring "Start Up" Service With the system shut down during the cold winter months, when the risk of colder temperatures has passed, our experienced team will be out to get your system back up and running. We'll also check for any repairs needed, and recommend upgrades if you've added to your yard or garden area. Once again, we ask that you sign up well in advance for Spring Start Up Service in order to ensure that your system is ready before your plants and trees are! Backflow Testing Service Most cities and municipalities require that all irrigation systems undergo "backflow tests" annually. The backflow device installed as part of your irrigation system protects your potable water and the city's water from back siphonage of contaminates, such as fertilizers and waste that may have accumulated in your yard. Able Irrigation's certified technicians will perform the testing for you. In order for us to schedule your backflow test according to the regulations in your area, you can sign up for our Backflow Testing Service. We annually test backflows in February or at the time of spring service. Upgrades and Repairs If you've made changes to your landscape it's a good idea to have us review the design of your current irrigation system in order to recommend enhancements that will meet the needs of all of your plants and trees in the most efficient manner.
